Sandulli Grace attorneys John M. Becker and Lauren Kopec have been selected as Massachusetts 2024 Super Lawyers. This is the fourth consecutive year of Super Lawyer selection for Attorney Becker, who has been practicing labor and employment law on behalf of unions and employees since 1996. Attorney Becker is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and a former law clerk to Justice Neil Lynch of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In 2019, the Massachusetts Law Review published Attorney Becker’s article, “The Role of Public Policy in Judicial Review of Massachusetts Public Sector Labor Arbitration Awards.” Attorney Kopec, who rejoined Sandulli Grace in 2024 after a brief sojourn at another firm, was selected this year as a “Rising Star” Super Lawyer. Attorney Kopec is a former law clerk to Justice Elspeth B. Cypher of the Supreme Judicial Court. The online version of the 2024 Massachusetts Super Lawyers magazine is accessible here.
Super Lawyers, which is a subdivision of Thomson Reuters, uses a patented four-step selection process for determining who qualifies for their list. The process begins with nominations of lawyers by their peers. In the second step, third parties research the nominees across 12 key categories. Then, the nominees are reviewed by a Blue Ribbon Panel of highly credentialed attorneys before a final selection is made. According to Super Lawyers, 5% of attorneys are selected as Super Lawyers, and 2.5% are selected as Rising Stars.
In past years, Super Lawyers has recognized other Sandulli Grace attorneys, including Alan H. Shapiro and Amy Laura Davidson.
